Abstract

Thermal forming of sheet metal parts is usually carried out in a heating furnace, so that the sizes of the parts are limited, the complexity of forming equipment is improved. In order to meet the increasing requirement for rapid thermal forming of the large-size sheet metal parts in the manufacturing field, the invention relates to an electric auxiliary hot forming method and device for large-size thin-wall parts. The method is characterized in that a plate does not need to be heated and formed in the heating furnace, so that the size range of the parts which can be formed by the plate is increased, before heating, the plate needs to be subjected to surface cleaning, drying and coating treatment, then an electric heating plate is used for heating the upper surface and the lower surface of the plate, a temperature sensor is used for measuring the temperature, after the needed forming temperature is reached, an upper die and a lower die start to move for forming, and meanwhile the connecting rod mechanism is used for driving a sliding block to horizontally move to enable the heating plate to leave a forming area. The method is fast in heating, high in forming efficiency, simple in equipment structure, wide in forming range and low in cost. The defect that large-size parts cannot be formed due to the fact that existing sheet metal part hot forming is limited in the heating furnace is effectively overcome.
