[0028] The present disclosure includes systems and methods for detecting and scoring motion artifacts in magnetic resonance (MR) images of a subject using MR signals from different coils. An object as used herein is an object placed within a bore of an MR imaging (MRI) system and imaged by the MRI system. The subject can be a human subject, an animal or a phantom. The systems and methods disclosed herein provide objective indicators of motion artifacts without requiring input from a user. Neither additional hardware nor navigator pulses are required. Furthermore, the systems and methods disclosed herein require a minimal training image dataset and limited human involvement for the rating of sports compared to artificial intelligence scoring methods for sports.
