[0027] The present invention relates to a specific polymer composition comprising (i) LDPE, (ii) polypropylene, (iii) polyolefin comprising epoxy groups (A) and (iv) comprising carboxylic acid The polyolefin (B) of the group or its precursor.
[0028] In a preferred embodiment at least one of (A) and (B) is polyethylene. More preferably, one of (A) and (B) is polyethylene and the other is polypropylene.
[0029] Generally, the compatibility between polyethylene and polypropylene is relatively low. Therefore, blends between these polymers often lead to phase separation of the system. However, the functional groups used in the present invention allow polyethylene and polypropylene to react with each other. Thus an in situ copolymer compatibilizer is formed. It reduces phase separation and produces blends with considerably higher thermomechanical properties.
