Embodiment 1-5
[0082] The compositions of Inventive Examples 1, 3, 4 and 5 were prepared using a high shear homogenizer and the composition of Inventive Example 2 was prepared using a low shear mixer. It has now been found that it is preferred, if possible, to use a low shear mixer for the manufacture of the suspending compositions of the present invention.
[0083] The compositions of Examples 1, 2, 3 and 4 used unground solid pesticide and the composition of Example 5 used ground solid pesticide.
[0084] The compositions of Examples 1-5 were prepared using a two-phase addition method. During the first phase, with proper and thorough mixing, the solid pesticide is added to the liquid pesticide to form a Phase I mixture. During the second phase, the surfactants were first mixed together in any order, followed by the addition of silica to form the Phase II mixture. The Phase I and Phase II mixtures were then added with good agitation to form the final mixture.

Embodiment 6
[0097] The composition of Example 6 (Table 2) was prepared using a high shear homogenizer. This composition illustrates that small amounts of inert solvents suitable for assay adjustments may be included in the composition without adversely affecting the physical properties.

Embodiment 7-14
[0105] The compositions of Examples 7-14 were prepared by the following methods. First, the liquid ingredients are added in any order and shear mixed in a wet media mill such as a Waring blender. The solid ingredients (solid particulate pesticide and silica) were then added and further mixed to form a blend. 350 ml of this mixture was transferred to an Eiger mill and recirculated therein for about 30 minutes at a shaft speed of 1000 rpm.
[0106] The ingredients and amounts used to prepare the compositions of Examples 7-10 are listed in Table 3. The ingredients and amounts used to prepare the compositions of Examples 11-14 are listed in Table 4.
