Abstract

During operation of the engine 3, an intake pressure with pulsation of an air intake passage 6 is detected by an intake pressure sensor 21 and an engine speed is detected by an engine speed sensor 23. An electronic control device (ECU) 20 calculates a lower limit of the intake pressure with the pulsation and a threshold according to the engine speed respectively and when the lower limit is smaller than the threshold, the lower limit is determined to be a detected value of the intake pressure. The ECU 20 calculates the intake quantity taken in a combustion chamber 8 on the basis of the intake pressure provided by the lower limit and the detected value of the engine speed and calculates fuel injection quantity and a value of ignition timing on the basis of the intake quantity. The ECU 20 controls an injector 4 and an ignition coil 13 on the basis of the calculated values.
