Abstract

The present invention provides an undercarriage arrangement for a selectively supported semi-trailer and a method for assembling the same. The landing gear assembly includes a bracket having an upper portion and a lower portion telescopically received in the upper portion. A lead screw for extending and retracting the upper and lower parts relative to each other based on the rotation of the lead screw. an input shaft exerting torque on said lead screw to drive rotation thereof, the input shaft rotating about a first axis of rotation and translating along said first axis of rotation so as to operate between a first position in low gear operation and a high speed The gear operates to switch between the second position. An output shaft is axially aligned with the input shaft, the output shaft includes an output gear for transmitting torque to the lead screw. A gear transmission member is housed in said upper portion and is configured such that said gear transmission increases lift when the input shaft is in a first position and increases speed when in a second position.
