Problems solved by technology

[0010] As described above, in the case of executing image playback while audio playback is in progress, unless the image playback ends before the flow of the audio information in the audio decoder internal buffer 8 is interrupted, uninterrupted audio playback cannot be realized.

Embodiment 1

[0060] first refer to figure 1 An optical disk reproducing apparatus is explained. exist figure 1 In , the solid arrows represent the data flow, while the dashed arrows represent the control signal flow. An optical disc 1 such as a CD-R is a recording medium on which image information and voice information are recorded. The optical cartridge 2 is composed of a laser light source, an image detector, and the like. The servo section 3 controls the drive of the optical head 2 and supplies the digital signal processor 4 with a playback signal read by the optical head 2 from the CD-R1. The digital signal processor 4 performs EFM demodulation and error correction on the playback signal supplied from the servo section 3 . The buffer memory 5 stores voice information and image information read by the optical head 2 from the optical disc 1 and processed by the digital signal processor 4 . The audio decoder 6 decodes the speech information supplied from the buffer memory 5 to the bu...

Embodiment 2

[0082] The information playback method of Embodiment 2 of the present invention will be described below.

[0083] Figure 9 It is the flow chart of the reading information switching program of step S506' in the information playback method of this embodiment, which is different from Figure 8 The reading information switching procedure of Embodiment 1 shown in .

[0084] exist Figure 9 In the reading information switching program of this embodiment shown, first, in step S901, it is judged whether the voice information is being read from the optical disc 1 to the buffer memory 5. If the voice information is being read (Yes), it is judged in step S902 whether the voice information amount in the buffer memory 5 is equal to or greater than the predetermined information amount D1. If the amount of voice information is less than D1 (No) in step S902, then the voice information must be read continuously, for which reason the reading information switching procedure will be ended. ...

Embodiment 3

[0095] The information playback method of Embodiment 3 of the present invention will be described below.

[0096] Figure 10 is a flow chart of the voice information providing program in the information playback method of this embodiment, which corresponds to Figure 5 The procedure of step S508 in Embodiment 1 is shown.

[0097] First, in step S1001, it is judged whether or not image information is being supplied from the buffer memory 6 to the video decoder 7. If it is being provided (Yes), the procedure returns to step S1001. If it is not being provided (No), the program proceeds to step S1002 to calculate the free space of the internal buffer 8 of the audio decoder. Then, in step S1003, a voice information provision amount smaller than the free space of the audio decoder internal buffer 8 calculated in step S1002 is calculated. Next, at step S1004, the supply of the speech information amount calculated at step S1003 from the buffer memory 6 to the audio decoder interna...

Abstract

In response to a request for read of image information from a recording medium on which non-multiplexed voice information and image information have been recorded, for example, whether or not a sufficient amount of voice information to prevent occurrence of underflow has been stored in a buffer memory is first determined. If it is determined that the amount of voice information in the buffer memory is not sufficient (less than a predetermined amount), read of image information is not started immediately, but voice information is read until the amount becomes equal to or more than the predetermined amount, and then read of image information is started. This enables simultaneous playback of voice information and image information without voice interruption.

Description

[0001] This application claims priority from Patent Application No. 2004-165740 filed in Japan on June 3, 2004, the full text of which is hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to an information playback method for reading voice information and image information from a recording medium such as an optical disc to play back the voice and image. The recorded voice information is, for example, MP3, and the recorded image information is, for example, JPEG. Background technique [0003] Next, reproduction of information recorded on an optical disk will be described. [0004] figure 1 Indicates an optical disc playback device. exist figure 1 In , the solid arrows represent the data flow, while the dashed arrows represent the control signal flow. An optical disc 1 such as a CD-R is a recording medium on which image information and voice information are recorded. The playback device includes an optical cartridge 2 , a servo sectio...
