7 results about "Sleep disorder breathing" patented technology

The term breathing-related sleep disorder refers to a spectrum of breathing anomalies ranging from chronic or habitual snoring to upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS) to frank obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) or, in some cases, obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS).

Connector assembly

A patient interface for delivering a flow of air at positive pressure relative to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways to ameliorate sleep disordered breathing comprises a seal-forming structure to form a seal with a region of the patient's face surrounding an entrance to the patient's airways, a positioning and stabilising structure to provide a force to hold the seal-forming structure in a therapeutically effective position on the patient's head, and a connector assembly adapted to connect to an air circuit. The connector assembly comprises a loop member removably and releasably secured in an aperture of an attachment region of the patient interface and an elbow assembly connected to the air circuit and repeatedly connectable to and detachable from the loop member. The elbow assembly comprises an elbow member and a clip member. The clip member comprises a structure separate and distinct from the elbow member and is connected to the elbow member and releasably connects the elbow assembly to the loop member, the elbow member forming a seal with the loop member when the elbow assembly and loop member are connected to each other.

Bed-mounted sleep disordered breathing monitoring system and method

This invention provides a bed-mounted sleep breathing state monitoring system and method. It collects bed-mounted pressure signals generated during the user's sleep process using an under-bed pressure sensor module. Based on these signals, it determines the start and end times of candidate sleep breathing abnormalities. The bed-mounted pressure signals from the start to the end time are then input into a pre-set deep neural network for feature extraction and classification, ultimately determining whether a sleep breathing abnormality event exists. This method accurately captures the complete temporal features of sleep breathing abnormalities without relying on fixed time window segmentation, effectively avoiding issues such as event truncation and feature aliasing. It achieves adaptive localization and automated detection of sleep breathing abnormalities, significantly improving the accuracy and completeness of sleep breathing abnormality event identification and reducing the risk of missed or false detections.

Methods and systems for treating sleep disordered breathing and assessing and improving efficacy of treatment of sleep disordered breathing re disclosed herein. According to some embodiments, the present technology includes a method of treating sleep disordered breathing with a neuromodulation system at least partially implanted in a patient having an airway compromised by an obstruction. The method includes delivering stimulation energy to a target nerve in the patient using an electrode of the neuromodulation system, wherein the target nerve is associated with patency of the airway, receiving sensor data from a sensor arrangement of the neuromodulation system, wherein the sensor data is indicative of airflow in the airway proximal to the obstruction, and assessing efficacy of the stimulation energy based at least in part on the received sensor data.

Method and apparatus for non-invasive detection of physiological and patho-physiological sleep conditions

ActiveUS12642485B2Diagnostic signal processingHeart/pulse rate measurement devicesSystoleSleep disordered breathing
Method and apparatus for the non-invasive detection of certain breathing conditions, certain sleep disordered breathing conditions, or assessment of the person's myocardial contractility and its dynamic changes, comprising steps of: determining the sleep or wake status of a person, monitoring circulatory pulse waveforms and amplitude normalized pulse wave systolic upstrokes recorded from a person's body and determining at least one index of the upstroke to characterize the strength of the contraction of the heart during the systolic upstroke during a series of heart beats relating to a breathing cycle or an absent anticipated breathing cycle of the patient, and determining that a certain change in a breathing condition, a sleep disordered breathing condition, or assessment of the person's myocardial contractility and its dynamic changes, has occurred when a specific change in the sleep disordered breathing analysis, and the at least one index of the upstroke has been detected.
