Abstract

The invention discloses an iron and manganese removal modified filter medium which takes volcanic rock as a carrier, as well as the preparation method thereof. The carrier of the modified filter medium is the volcanic rock coated with a polycondensate modifier. The volcanic rock is firstly pretreated by an acidic reagent, and then the pretreated volcanic rock is coated with a polycondensate modified mixed liquor, thereby realizing the modification to the volcanic rock. The modified volcanic rock filter medium can have better removal effect on iron ions and manganese ions in the neutral or the slightly acidic environment, thereby effectively removing the iron ions and the manganese ions in the mine water, realizing the resource recovery of the mine water and relieving the water using problem existing in the arid water shortage area; and the starting time is short, thereby having good effect on removing the heavy metal ions and the chroma in the industrial wastewater.
