A control method by using a laser sensor (13) for feeding back the length of the workpiece extending out of an electrode (12) as the welding squeezing amount is used. The technique is suitable for the welding of a hollow O-shaped ring of stainless steel, a solid O-shaped ring, a hollow O-shaped ring of aluminum alloy and a solid O-shaped ring, the tubular diameters of which are between 2 and 5mm. The welding quality is better than arc welding and the technique is stable, thus greatly improving the qualified rate of the product.
