[0038] Preparation Example 1: Preparation of Gum Base Blocks
[0039] Gum base pieces were prepared using the predetermined amounts of ingredients shown in Table 1. The ingredients, except the fragrance, were thoroughly mixed (mixed) for about 30 minutes in a mixer preheated at 45°C to 55°C, and then cooled. Flavors are added to the cooled mixture to provide gum base pieces.

[0043] Preparation Example 2: Preparation of the Paste for Filling the Heart
[0044] Menthol was dissolved in a double boiler using predetermined amounts of ingredients shown in Table 2. Mix the menthol and cooling agent by adding ethanol to the cooling agent. Water is added to xylitol. The paste for the fillings was prepared by mixing the mixture of menthol and cooling agent with the aqueous xylitol with a homogenizer. The water content in the paste was determined according to the Karl Fischer method and the results are shown in Table 2.

[0047] Preparation Example 3: Preparation of core-filled granules
[0048]In the case of using predetermined amounts of ingredients shown in Table 3, menthol was mixed with the cooling agent. The mixture was mixed with xylitol in a granulator for 20 minutes while water was added. Granules were prepared by passing the mixture through a granulator (12 mesh) followed by drying at room temperature for 24 hours, whereby granules for filling were obtained. The average diameter of the particles is shown in Table 3.
