[0079] The invention is further illustrated by the following examples, which should not be considered limiting in any way. The contents of all cited references (including literature references, issued patents, published or non-published patent applications) cited throughout this application are hereby expressly incorporated by reference. The practice of the present invention will employ, unless otherwise indicated, conventional techniques of cell biology, cell culture, molecular biology, transgenic biology, microbiology, recombinant DNA and immunology, which are within the skill of the art. These techniques are fully explained in the literature (see, for example, Molecular Cloning A Laboratory Manual 1, 2nd Ed., ed. by Sambrook, Fritsch and Maniatis (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press: 1989); DNA Cloning, Volumes I and II (D.N. Abstract

Biomarkers associated with preeclampsia were identified. Nine proteins were identified as being differentially regulated between the control and the under 28-weeks preeclamptic samples. Similarly three proteins were identified as being differentially regulated between the control and the over 28-weeks preeclamptic samples. These 12 proteins can be used as potential biomarkers in the diagnosing andprognosing of preeclampsia.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to the detection of preeclampsia, and more particularly, to biomarkers for detecting preeclampsia. Background technique [0002] Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific disorder that affects 5-8% of all pregnant women worldwide and is one of the leading causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. The term "pre-eclampsia" refers to elevated blood pressure and protein in the urine, associated symptoms, and associated disorders occurring after the 20th week of pregnancy. Although the cause of preeclampsia remains unknown, clinical evidence clearly points to the placenta as a pathophysiological abnormality. The prevailing view is that unwanted cellular invasion during placental development and abnormal development of the decidual spiral arteries contribute to the emergence of preeclampsia. Despite extensive research, the factors that ultimately lead to preeclampsia have not been fully identified. [0003...
