The invention relates to nonlinear optical crystals cadmium diethyldithiocarbamate aluminum hexaborate, a preparation method and application thereof. A chemical formula of the crystals is [Cd(dien)2] [AlB6O11(OH)]; the molecular weight is 603.61; the crystals belong to a monoclinic system; the space group is Pc; and unit cell parameters are that: a is 9.4602(19), b is 10.765(2), alpha is equal to gamma which is 90 degrees, beta is 129.657(19) degrees, and Z is 2. The cadmium diethyldithiocarbamate aluminum hexaborate is prepared by a hydro(solvo)thermal method. The cadmium diethyldithiocarbamate aluminum hexaborate has certain nonlinear optical properties; and the powder second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficient of the cadmium diethyldithiocarbamate aluminum hexaborate is 1.7 times that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP).
