Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of medical science, and relates to a method for examining and analyzing phlegm, and purposes of the method. According to the method, with a phlegm inducting technology, asthma patients with cold- phlegm or heat-phlegm can expectorate deep phlegm. A cytological DC (differential count) is carried out upon the obtained phlegm. Correlated inflammatory indicators in phlegm supernatant and in serums are examined. Reference indexes for cold- phlegm and heat-phlegm microcosmic syndrome differentiation in Chinese medical science of bronchial asthma are provided and the reliability of the indexes is evaluated. As a result, the method provided by the present invention is safe, reliable, and has good repeatability. The method assists in reflecting local inflammation characteristics of airways of patients having asthma, in categorizing bronchial asthma which is a respiratory disease, and in the microcosmic syndrome differentiation of types of syndrome in Chinese medical science. The method can be applied in the researches of pathogenic mechanism, prevention, treatment, and drug screening about bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases.
