Abstract

The invention provides an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal transmission method for restraining a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). A generated OFDM time domain signal is sent out by an antenna after being subjected to companding distortion processing; the OFDM signal transmission method is characterized in that: the companding distortion processing is beta companding; and by the beta companding, the amplitude of the OFDM time domain signal is changed from Rayleigh distribution obedience to beta distribution obedience. Because of nonlinear distortion, the amplitude of the OFDM time domain signal submits to Rayleigh distribution instead of submitting to beta distribution. Compared with the conventional index companding and the conventional error function companding, the beta companding has the advantage that a better balance between PAPR and BER (bit error rate) can be obtained.
