The invention relates to a method for producing rock wool, which comprises the following steps: 1) selecting slag as a principle raw material, adding basalt or silica, and melting in a melting furnace; 2) under the action of a centrifugal machine, drawing the melted materials into fibers, utilizing high-pressure air to blow the fibers into a wool collecting machine, separating out slag balls during a blowing process, and meanwhile, applying a binder onto the surfaces of the fibers; 3) forming the fibers into a primary wool layer under the action of the wool collecting machine, conveying the primary wool layer to a conveyer under the action of a pendulum bob machine, and forming a wool felt of a multilayer folding structure on a conveying belt of the conveyer; 4) preparing the wool felt into structural wool under the action of a pressing pleating machine; and 5) feeding the structural wool into a curing furnace for pressing and forming, and meanwhile, blowing 220-300 DEG C hot air, and curing a water-soluble phenolic resin solution which is used as a binder.
