Abstract

The invention discloses a new application of azafrin, and the new application means using the azafrin or pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester as an active component to prepare medicines or health-care foods for preventing or/and treating a cardiovascular disease. The experimental results show that the azafrin is capable of obviously alleviating a myocardial injury caused by H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) and being free of injury and toxicity on myocardial cells; and the azafrin is capable of significantly improving the function of cardiac contractility while myocardial ischemia happens, maintaining the heart rate of acute myocardial infarction after being molded, increasing the activity of serum SOD (Super Oxygen Dehydrogenises), inhibiting MDA (Methane Dicarboxylic Aldehyde) and TnI (Troponin), increasing the coronary flow, and maintaining an oxygen supply for myocardium, thereby maintaining a normal heart rate of the heart and improving the myocardial function; therefore, the azafrintaken as the active component is expected to be developed to be the medicines for preventing or/and treating the cardiovascular disease, in particular to the cardiovascular disease relative to myocardial ischemia, thereby being important for a research and an application of the azafrin.
