Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for carrying out activation/deactivation control on a secondary carrier of a multicarrier network. The method comprises the following steps that: a wireless network controller sends a secondary carrier state control condition for indicating to allow or forbid to activate/deactivate the secondary carrier to a node B; the node B judges whether operation indicated by the secondary carrier state control condition is the same as operation indicated by a secondary carrier state control order or not; if so, the secondary carrier state control order is sent to the terminal; and if not, the secondary carrier state control order is forbidden to be sent. With the adoption of the method and the system provided by the invention, the flexibility configured to the carrier by the network is improved by controlling the node B through an RNC (Radio Network Controller).
