The control unit comprises a first detecting unit, a second detecting unit, a main control unit and a motor driving unit. The first detecting unit is used for generating magnetic field polarity position signals of a permanent-magnet rotor, and the second detecting unit is used for generating zero-crossing signals of an alternating-current power supply. Besides, the main control unit comprises a starting subunit, a judging subunit and an interrupting subunit, the starting subunit is used for realizing power-on of the motor driving unit, the judging subunit is used for judging a rotation direction of the permanent-magnet rotor by comparing waveform of the detecting signals of the first detecting unit to waveform of the detecting signals of the second detecting unit, and the interrupting subunit is used for interrupting the motor driving unit when the rotation direction of the permanent-magnet rotor is opposite to a set rotation direction. The invention further discloses an orientation control method of the alternating-current permanent-magnet synchronous water pump.
