The invention also provides applications of the gene, the plant expression carrier or the host cell on prompting the plant nutrient growth and improving the plant biomass, especially the applications comprise that the gene or the segments thereof and / or the plant expression carrier is transformed into plants, or the host cell is used for infecting the plants. Through improving expression index of the PGEF13, the number of plant leaves and the diameter of plants can be increased, the growth of roots can be prompted, and the biomass is improved.
