The manufacturing method comprises the steps that: Ag, Cu, carbon black, and MAX powder are mixed; anhydrous ethanol is added to the mixture; the obtained mixture is subjected to ball milling and bake-drying; powder obtained by drying is prepared into a pre-cast blank in a graphite mold; the pre-cast blank is preheated to 400-800 DEG C; the temperature is maintained for 15-20min, and a pressure is applied for 30-50 seconds; and the pre-cast blank is cooled to room temperature with a furnace, such that the novel commutator material is obtained. The material provided by the invention has a friction coefficient of approximately 0.1-0.3.
