The battery casing comprises a framework and a base plate fixed on the framework, and is integrally formed. The manufacturing method of the battery casing comprises following steps: taking cast aluminium 102 as a casting raw material of the battery casing; casting and moulding a workblank of the battery casing by gravity casting; clamping the battery casing workblank in a numerically-controlled machine tool, and processing a fitting surface by drilling and tapping holes; adjusting the shape of the battery casing; and performing surface treatment and coating by electrophoretic processing. Beneficial effects of the battery casing are that: cast aluminium 102 is used as the raw material for integral casting of the battery casing, so that the weight of the battery casing is decreased substantially; and integrity, water resistance, impact resistance and yield strength are also increased. Machining precision and product batch consistency of the manufacturing method disclosed in the invention are much higher than those of traditional manufacturing methods, so that later replacement is convenient. In addition, cost is reduced greatly because of the simplified manufacturing method.
