The invention provides an on-line vision measurement apparatus for end shapes of hot rolled strip steel and relates to measurement equipment which is characterized by employing an optical method. The on-line vision measurement apparatus comprises: a hot strip steel end shape detection device, a visual information processing system and an on-line detection device monitoring system. The hot strip steel end shape detection device mainly comprises: a vision sensing system, a laser and a computer processing unit. The visual information processing system comprises: a strip width calculating system, a linear array CCD image processing system, a liquid crystal display screen, a keyboard and mouse, a signal processor and an industrial computer. The on-line detection device monitoring system comprises: a monitoring interface for the strip width calculating system and background database management software. The vision sensing system of the hot strip steel end shape detection device is connected with the visual information processing system via a network cable; and the visual information processing system is connected with the on-line detection device monitoring system via a USB wire. Through the on-line vision measurement apparatus, technical problems that in the prior art, strip steel end shape detection speed is slow, efficiency is low and detection precision is not enough are overcome.
