Abstract

A memory system includes a memory controller and at least one memory device. The at least one memory device includes a refresh request circuit that generates a refresh request signal at a timing based on a data retention time of a memory cell, such as an individual data retention time based on a row of memory cells. The memory controller schedules operation commands for at least one memory device in response to the received refresh request signal.
