Abstract

The invention provides an array substrate and a manufacturing method thereof, and a display panel, and aims to solve the problem of poor display caused by damage of a spacer in the prior art. The method comprises steps as follows: a scanning line and a grid electrode are formed in a substrate; a grid insulating layer is formed above the scanning line and the grid electrode; an active layer, a data line and a spacer substrate are formed above the grid insulating layer; a passivation layer is formed above the layer where the active layer, the data line and the spacer substrate are located; and the passivation layer is etched in the position, where a spacer is required to be arranged, above the spacer substrate with a dry etching method, via holes are formed, an electric field is formed through the spacer substrate exposed in the via holes and etching gas in a reaction cavity of etching equipment used in the etching process, components generated in the reaction cavity in the etching process are pulled to be deposited on the surface of the spacer substrate, and the spacer is generated.
