Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for running a vehicle (100), such that said vehicle (100) comprises a combustion engine (101) which can selectively be connected to at least one driveshaft (104, 105) to deliver driving force to said driveshaft (104, 105) for propulsion of said vehicle (100). When said vehicle (100) is in motion, the method comprises : - when said vehicle (100) is approaching a downgrade, determining whether said engine (101) can be disconnected from said at least one driveshaft (104, 105) for at least a first period of time (T1), and - when said engine (101) can be disconnected from said at least one driveshaft (104, 105) for at least said first period of time (T1), disconnecting said engine (101) from said at least one driveshaft (104, 105) for said first period (T1), said engine (101) also being switched off for said first period (T1).
