The test environment conditions of an engine at the altitude of 0-5500m can be simulated, change of engine coolant temperature and flow is respectively controlled by a coolant temperature and flow control method, and engine heat balance performance testing under different altitudes and different working conditions is performed and the optimal coolant temperature MAP and the optimal coolant flow MAP of the engine under different altitudes and different working conditions are acquired. The coolant temperature control range is 50-120 DEG C and fluctuation is less than +/-0.5 DEG C; and the flow control range is 0-400L/min and fluctuation is less than +/-1%. According to the method, engine coolant temperature and flow can be accurately adjusted in real time according to the test requirements so that adjusting precision is high, adjusting range is wide, and waste of large amount of time for achieving a test temperature point in the heat balance test can be avoided.
