The invention discloses an external-type power distribution network leakage indicating device which comprises a buckle-type housing, an open-close-type residual current transformer, a leakage current monitoring and comparison circuit, a leakage indicator sign, a power supply and a charging portion. The open-close-type residual current transformer detects the magnitude of the current; through the application of a signal conditioning unit formed by an amplifier, a voltage signal which can be received by a comparator unit and is in proportion to the leakage current at the primary side of the residual current transformer is obtained; the signal and a reference voltage (setting voltage) are compared through the comparator, and then, a leakage signal is output to an indicating part; after receiving the leakage signal, the indicating part gives out an obvious sign and turns off the power supply of the device; and after receiving a reset indicating indication, the device goes back to work again.
