Problems solved by technology

However, this model-locked picosecond laser has the following disadvantages: (1) The excitation light is reflected on the plano-concave mirror many times, which will cause astigmatism and affect the beam quality of the laser output; (2) The laser gain medium is placed on the plano-concave mirror , which is not conducive to the cooling of the laser gain medium and system stability; (3) The relative angle of the plane mirror and the plane-concave mirror needs to be precisely controlled, and is easily affected by the external environment and the thermal expansion and contraction of the lens, which is not conducive to the long-term stable operation of the laser

Abstract

The invention relates to the field of laser technology, and discloses a passive mode-locked picosecond laser. The laser includes a pump module, a pump coupling device, a laser gain medium, a small aperture and a laser resonator. The laser gain medium and the small aperture are disposed in the laser resonator. The pump module is used for emitting pump light which enters into the laser resonator after collimation and focusing through the pump coupling device, and acts on the laser gain medium. The laser gain medium absorbs the pump light and then generates signal light through the stimulated radiative transition. The signal light passes through the small aperture, continuously oscillates circulatively in the laser resonator and continuously outputs laser. The invention can be used for effectively suppressing the laser high order mode oscillation starting, so that the passive mode-locked picosecond laser can output a laser beam of high quality and have excellent mode-locked stability, and meanwhile the invention has the advantages of high output power, good pulse stability, laser signal output, compact structure and simple operation.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of laser technology, and more specifically relates to a passive mode-locked picosecond laser. Background technique [0002] With the development of the laser technology industry, higher requirements are put forward for the pulse width of the laser light source, and the traditional nanosecond laser can no longer meet the needs of the future development of the laser industry. Picosecond lasers can achieve picosecond-level ultrashort pulse output, which can further promote the development of the laser industry. Picosecond lasers have broad application prospects in laser processing, biomedicine, national defense, scientific research and other fields. Especially in the field of laser processing, picosecond lasers have unique advantages compared with traditional nanosecond lasers. Picosecond pulses can directly destroy the chemical bonds of materials, effectively reduce the thermal effect of materials and the range...
