The plunger comprises a plunger body and a seal cap, wherein the plunger body is integrally formed from a plunger head, a connecting part and a plunger tail in sequence; the plunger head is a hollow sphere; oil holes are formed in the hollow sphere; the plunger tail is a hollow cylinder; at least four uniformly-distributed oil flow channels are formed in the side wall of the hollow cylinder, and parallel to the axis of the hollow cylinder; and the oil flow channels and the oil holes join up and communicate with each other at the connecting part. The SLM rapid prototyping technology is applied to manufacturing of the plunger of the plunger pump, thereby designing an enclosed hollow thin-wall plunger structure; accordingly, the weight of the plunger can be remarkably reduced, and the driving force and the inertia force in motion can be reduced; and meanwhile, the invalid volume can be reduced, the volume efficiency can be improved, the abrasion can be reduced, the usability of the plunger pump can be remarkably improved, and the service life of the plunger pump can be remarkably prolonged.
