Problems solved by technology

One advantage of EVS is to display the actual images. However, the current EVS has a low resolution and is easily affected by heavy fog and haze. As a result, the runway is not obvious in the EVS image, and it is difficult for the pilot to identify the runway position from the image.
According to statistics, the probability of pilots observing the runway from EVS in low visibility conditions is less than 60%.
However, there is an error in the runway information in the synthetic view image from the runway database data, and the EVS and SVS images cannot be completely overlapped, which is easy to misunderstand the pilot

Abstract

The invention relates to an enhanced visual system, and a runway enhanced display method in enhanced display. The system comprises a visual enhancement system for generating a first signal for representing an enhanced visual image, an avionic sensor which generates a second signal which provides the position, posture and course information of an airplane, data storage equipment which is used for storing a database and providing a third signal of runway position information, and a processor which carries out the processing of the first, second and third signals and obtains a runway enhanced display image. The image specific processing method comprises the steps: solving the position range of a runway in an enhanced visual image according to the imaging principles of a camera through the first, second and third signal data; obtaining the exact position of the runway in the enhanced visual image through an image processing algorithm, enhancing the displaying of the runway in the enhanced visual image, and enabling the runway to be highlighted visually. The system and method can improve the probability that an aviator finds the runway, reduce the impact on flight from low visibility, enhance the situation awareness capability of the aviator, and improve the flight safety.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of visual enhancement, in particular to an enhanced visual system and an enhanced display method for a runway in enhanced display. Background technique [0002] Currently, an enhanced vision system (hereinafter, "EVS") is widely used in aircraft. And it is mainly used in the approach, landing and roll-out stages of the aircraft, which is convenient for the pilot to observe the surrounding conditions of the airport, especially to help the pilot to observe the target landing runway more clearly. A typical EVS system includes imaging devices including, but not limited to, visible low-light television cameras, infrared cameras, or any other suitable light detection system capable of detecting light or electromagnetic radiation in or outside the visible spectrum. The EVS receives the light from the external scene and forms an EVS image, which is then displayed on the driver's display, which is used to enhance th...
