Abstract

The invention discloses a light-emitting diode (LED) drive circuit and an LED drive method for an automobile starting power supply. The LED drive circuit comprises a lighting type LED lamp (D15), a red LED indicating lamp, a green LED indicating lamp and a switching device (Q5), wherein a positive pole of the lighting type LED lamp is connected with a positive pole of a direct current (DC) power supply by a first current-limiting resistor; a negative pole of the lighting type LED lamp is in ground connection by means of the switching device; a control end of the switching device is connected with an LED control port (CTL-LED) by a resistor R11; positive poles of the red LED indicating lamp and the green LED indicating lamp are connected with the positive pole of the DC power supply by a second current-limiting resistor (R53) after being in short-circuit connection; negative poles of the red LED indicating lamp and the green LED indicating lamp are respectively connected with a red LED lamp control port (LED-R) and a green LED lamp control port (LED-G). The LED drive circuit for the automobile starting power supply is simple in circuit, fewer in needed elements and easy to control.
