Abstract

The invention relates to a method for extracting and separating nux vomica total alkaloids from nux vomica. In the method, coarse powder of nux vomica is subjected to extraction through a flash extraction process; then a nux vomica extract liquid is concentrated and alkalized, and is filtered to remove precipitates; the filtrate then is purified through macroporous adsorption resin to obtain the nux vomica total alkaloids, in which content of strychnine is significantly reduced. The method has simple operations, is energy-saving and environment-friendly, and is free of residual toxic solvents in the product. Majority of strychnine in the produced nux vomica total alkaloids is removed, so that the product is reduced in toxicity and enhanced in curative effects.
