The invention provides a bipolar soft switching DC transformer, which comprises n BDAB convertors of which the medium-voltage / high-voltage sides are connected in series and the low-voltage sides are connected in parallel, wherein n is an arbitrary positive integer; each BDAB convertor comprises a medium-voltage / high-voltage side active full-bridge power unit, an isolation transformer and a low-voltage side active full-bridge power unit, which are sequentially connected; the medium-voltage / high-voltage side active full-bridge power unit comprises an H-bridge structure module which is connectedwith a primary winding of the isolation transformer in series; the low-voltage side active full-bridge power unit comprises a low-voltage side full-bridge module which is connected with a secondary winding of the isolation transformer; and the low-voltage side full-bridge module is filtered through a filter unit and then bipolar DC voltage +VLV, 0 and -VLV is extracted.
