Abstract

The invention discloses a method and device for processing a transmission timestamp based on an NTP (Network Time Protocol). The method specifically comprises the steps of when a timestamp of an NTP message carried by a UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is detected to be updated, judging an NTP expansion option in a load of the UDP message is an NTP timestamp check domain or not; if the NTP expansion option is judged to be an NTP timestamp check domain, modifying the NTP timestamp check domain according to check values of the timestamp before and after the update so as to enable a UDP check value of the UDP message to be unchanged. According to the method, the modification for the transmission time can be reflected by using the NTP without a need of updating the UDP check value, thereby effectively alleviating the burden of an NTP client and an NTP server for calculating the UDP check value, and being conducive to improving related performance of the NTP.
