The method comprises the steps that the latitude and longitudecoordinates and the satellite positioning electronic map data of the trunk line coordination control intersection and the track area of each floating vehicle are acquired; segment processing is performed on the route distance from the start position to the end position of the floating vehicles, the average speed of the floating vehicle track points in each segment of distance is calculated in a time sharing way, the space-time distribution diagram of speed of the floating vehicles is drawn, and the congestion position and time of the trunk line coordination control intersection are evaluated according to the space-time distribution diagram of speed; and the evaluation index of the trunk line coordination control intersection is calculated according to the track data of the floating vehicles so as to evaluate the signal control effect of the trunk line coordination control intersection.
