The fluorescent material is prepared by adopting Y2O3, Eu2O3, S, Na2CO3, NH4H2PO4 and BaCl2.2H2O as raw materials, or adopting Y2O3, Eu, Eu2O3, BaF2 and BaCl2.2H2O as raw materials. The preparation method of the fluorescent material comprises the steps of (1) preparing a single-phase fluorescent material; (2) grinding the single-phase fluorescent material; (3) carrying out heat treatment on the single-phase fluorescent material and the like. Compared with a fluorescent material obtainedthrough a conventional means, the fluorescent material prepared by adopting the steps is of a microparticle state; when being applied to a color kinescope, the fluorescent material provided by the invention can be directly used without the need for being ground again, so that the problem that the brightness of the fluorescent material is reduced after conventional grinding, and a display effect ofthe color kinescope is effectively improved.
