Abstract

The invention discloses a herbicidal composition which comprises trichlopyr and pyribenzoxim in a weight ratio (2.5-40):1. The invention further discloses the application of the herbicidal compositionto prevention and control of weeds in rice fields. The two agents are capable of effectively killing different types of weeds respectively, have obvious synergistic effects after being compounded together, improve the playing speed of herbicide efficacy, reduce the use amount of herbicides, and improve the safety to rice. The two agents are complementary to each other in herbicide controlling spectrums; after being mixed, the herbicidal controlling spectrums can effectively cover gramineous, broadleaved and sedge weeds, including barnyard grass, leptochloa chinensis, murdannia triquetra, alternanther philoxeroides, sagittaria trifolia, scirpus juncoides roxb, cyperus difformis and other malignant weeds which are common in rice fields; and the herbicidal composition has high activity against perennial malignant weeds and resistant weeds that are extremely refractory in the rice fields, and is huge in market potential.
