The invention discloses an intelligent measuring system and method based on primitive configuration of a to-be-measured workpiece, and belongs to the field of machine vision detection and measurement.The intelligent measuring system is constituted by parts of a host, image collecting equipment, an X-axis direction motion device, a Y-axis direction motion device, a measuring platform and the like.Image data of the measured workpiece can be collected by a CCD camera or a laser scanner, and the intelligent measuring system can be used for two-dimensional data measuring and three-dimensional data measuring. The to-be-measured workpiece is placed on the measuring platform, after the system is started, image information of the workpiece is obtained through the image collecting equipment, primitives are extracted from an obtained image by an image processing module of the system, types of the primitives are identified automatically, parameter calculation is conducted, and meanwhile a measuring object library is generated. The shape primitives serve as a measuring module, the detecting efficiency is improved, dependence on priori knowledge is reduced, and universality and flexibility ofthe system are improved.
