A novel adaptive mounting device that effectively mounts and secures objects to nonplanar surfaces, and in particular effectively mounts and secures objects in a quick and efficient manner to complex contours of different automotive vehicle dashboard and other interior vehicle surfaces having differing coverings of differing textures. By example and without limitation, this novel adaptive mounting device includes a substantially flexible container forming a vacuum chamber containing and substantially filled with a substantially granular substance. A mounting structure having a frame supporting a presentation structure is joined to the bladder with at least a coupler or other presentation structure external of the bladder. A substantially air impermeable seal is formed between the bladder and a portion of the frame, and at least a partial vacuum is formed within the bladder.

A method for manufacturing the novel adaptive mounting device is also provided.

A force-feed mechanism removes paintballs from the backpack hopper and feeds them into the marker, while a ratcheting ceiling communicates with a sensor and brings the ceiling of the backpack hopper down on the remaining paintballs as more are fired to ensure that there is a constant pressure feeding the remaining paintballs into the force feed mechanism. The invention also optionally provides for an air canister located in the backpack hopper which even further lowers the player's profile as a target and protects the canister from damage.

A durable and wear resistant synthetic sports transition turf field having at least two strips with a plurality of fibrillated polypropylene strands tufted within a backing material. The strands are tufted in a wide variety of pile heights, patterns, gauges, and stitch patterns depending upon end use. A method is provided to remove contaminants from near-surface contaminated soil, the method including the steps of: placing a plurality of metal sheets on the surface above the contaminated soil to form a contiguous cover over at least a portion of the contaminated soil; seal welding adjacent metal sheets together; cutting a plurality of holes in the metal sheet; providing a plurality of heater wells and a plurality of vapor extraction wells into the contaminated soil through the holes cut in the metal sheets; providing vapor extraction wellheads over the vapor extraction wells, the vapor extraction wellheads sealed to the metal sheets; and removing contaminants from the near-surface soil by heating from the heater wells and extracting vapor through the vapor extraction wells. The wells are preferably both heater wells and vapor extraction wells, and the wellheads are preferably bolted to a flange which is welded to the metal sheets to ensure a positive seal at the surface. Insulation is preferably placed over the metal sheets prior to heating of the soil, and a rain cover placed over the insulation to keep rain out of the insulation and away from the soil being heated. Generally, such analyzing yields information about the composition of the SWNTs within said population. Such information includes, for example, the relative abundances of semiconducting SWNTs, the diameter distribution of such SWNTs, and the relative abundances of one or more particular SWNT species—as identified by one or more specific nanotube indices (n,m). The methods and devices of the present invention provide for the analysis of SWNT compositions in a rapid and efficient manner.

A method of removing components of an injection mold machine having a core assembly and a cavity assembly, the method including the steps of: (a) moving the core assembly and the cavity assembly into a closed position whereat a cavity insert and a core insert are mated together; (b) securing a core plate to a cavity plate, thereby forming a mold module; (c) releasing a securing means which secures the cavity plate to a manifold plate; (d) opening the mold from the closed position, until a first cavity plate disengages the manifold plate and all connections thereto, (e) releasing a securing means which secures the core plate to a master core plate; and (f) lifting the mold module in a direction perpendicular to a direction of motion between the open and closed position, the module being guided in the perpendicular direction by the guide means.
