Abstract

The invention discloses a wave absorbing material and a manufacturing method thereof. The wave absorbing material comprises a fiber composition and paraffin which are mutually mixed, wherein the fibercomposition is silicon carbide fiber with the surface being coated with at least one layer of silicon dioxide, thus on the one hand, the wave absorbing performance of the wave absorbing material obtained after the fiber composition and the paraffin are mixed is greatly improved due to introducing of the silicon carbide fiber, a magnetic material and a conductive phase are not added in a materialsubstrate, and thus the dielectric performance of the wave absorbing material is less affected by temperature changing; and on the other hand, the surface of the silicon carbide fiber is coated with the silicon dioxide layer, and thus it can be ensured that the high temperature performance of the wave absorbing material is excellent.
