Abstract

A clutch mechanism (10) for a clutch of a motor vehicle comprises: a cover (11); a diaphragm (20) having a central hole (23); a bearing cup (30) comprising an annular flange (34) supported on the diaphragm (20), a cylindrical bushing (35) with an axis (O) inserted into the central hole (23) of the diaphragm (20), first and second openings (31, 32) formed in the bushing (35), and through holes (33a, 33b) formed in the bushing (35); an elastically deformable retaining ring (40) inserted into the bushing (35) of the bearing cup. The retaining ring (40) includes two bosses (42) engaged in the first opening and the second opening of the bushing, the first opening and the second opening have an asymmetrical shape, and each of the openings has a bearing surface (31d, 32d) capable of holding the retaining ring when the retaining ring is off-axis relative to the bearing cup.
