In the embodiment of the invention, the timosaponin N can remarkably improve the weight and lung index of a bleomycin pulmonary fibrosis model rat, and remarkably reduce biochemical indicators closely related to the pulmonary fibrosis, such as the content of hydroxyproline in lung tissues and the levels of TGF-beta and TNF-alpha in pulmonary alveolar lavage fluid. In addition, the indexes related to the pulmonary fibrosis can be further improved synergisticallyby combining timosaponin N with pirfenidone.
