The invention relates to a novel chiral negative Poisson's ratio metamaterial and a design method thereof, and aims to automatically and quickly perform structural design of a mechanical metamaterialaccording to specific negative Poisson's ratio requirements, so as to get rid of the conventional experience design thought, improve the working efficiency and save the design time. The optimized configuration can keep a preset negative poisson ratio under large deformation, and can better meet the application scenarios where certain structures may deform greatly; and through further cubic splinecurve shape optimization design, the optimized configuration has better CAD reconfigurability, a real object can be directly manufactured through 3D printing, and wider engineering practical application prospects are achieved.
