Abstract

The invention discloses a broadband terahertz metasurface absorption unit based on VO2 and a metasurface absorber. The metasurface absorption unit comprises a metal resonance layer, a dielectric layerand a terahertz wave total reflection layer. The metal resonance layer is located on the upper surface of the dielectric layer, and the terahertz wave total reflection layer is located on the lower surface of the dielectric layer; the metal resonance layer comprises a regular cross-shaped metal patch etched with a regular cross-shaped gap, and two linear gaps, perpendicular to each other, of theregular cross-shaped gap coincide with two center lines of the regular cross-shaped metal patch respectively. VO2 materials are embedded into the two ends of the linear gap. According to the invention, the bandwidth and the absorptivity of the terahertz metasurface absorber can be improved, and the design complexity and the preparation difficulty of the terahertz metasurface absorption unit are not increased.
