The invention discloses a method for judging surface circulation change condition of Arctic Ocean, and the method comprises the steps: carrying out the EOF decomposition of the a-year monthly average sea level height data of the sea area of the Arctic Ocean, and obtaining a first mode, a fourth mode, and the spatial distribution and time sequence of the a-year monthly average sea level height of the sea area of the Arctic Ocean corresponding to the four modes; performing wavelet analysis on the time sequences corresponding to the first mode and the second mode to obtain a wavelet map of periodic change of the sea level height of the northern ocean sea area; acquiring arctic oscillation AO index data; performing correlation analysis on the obtained time sequence of the a-year-by-year monthly average sea level height corresponding to the first mode and the time sequence corresponding to AO index data to obtain a correlation coefficient; according to the correlation coefficient, obtaining factors causing the change of the surface circulation of the Arctic Ocean and the change condition thereof; and obtaining the periodic change condition of the surface circulation of the Arctic Ocean according to the wavelet map.
