Abstract

The invention relates to an optical frequency comb, in particular to a repetition-frequency-tunable integrated perfect soliton crystal frequency comb source based on a microcavity and a generation method thereof. The frequency comb source comprises a soliton frequency comb optical module, an output port and a control system, wherein the soliton frequency comb optical module comprises a pump laser, a control laser and a high-quality factor on-chip optical microcavity. According to the method, a periodic light field is generated by utilizing beat frequency of control light and pump light and is used for capturing optical time domain solitons, so that uniform distribution of the optical solitons in a cavity is realized; and the position of the control light is adjusted to change the cycle number of the background field in the microcavity, so that the repetition frequency of the soliton optical frequency comb is regulated and controlled. The technical scheme provided by the invention has the advantages of small volume, low cost, adjustable repetition frequency of the optical frequency comb, high stability and strong controllability, and solves the problem of deterministic regulation and control of the microcavity optical frequency comb.
