Abstract

The invention relates to water-dispersible modified polyisocyanate and application thereof, in particular to application of the water-dispersible modified polyisocyanate as a crosslinking component of a water-soluble or water-dispersible coating. The water-dispersible modified polyisocyanate can be obtained by reacting a system comprising the following components: a water-dispersible polyisocyanate and an isocyanate reactive component; the viscosity of the water-dispersible modified polyisocyanate is 3000 mPa.s to 11000 mPa.s, and the viscosity is measured according to DIN EN ISO 3219: 1994-10 at the temperature of 23 DEG C and the shear rate of 10 s <-1 > by selecting an MV-DIN rotor. The water-dispersible modified polyisocyanate disclosed by the invention has good manual stirring property and good dispersity, and a coating layer formed by a coating containing the water-dispersible modified polyisocyanate has high gloss and good transparency.
