Abstract

The invention discloses a mode converter which is formed by cascading a first mode converter and a second mode converter, an optical signal of a TE0 mode is transmitted from a first transmission waveguide to the first mode converter, the first mode converter converts the optical signal of the TE0 mode into an optical signal of a TE1 mode, and due to the fact that odd-even check of modes before and after conversion from the TE0 mode to the TE1 mode is opposite, the optical signal of the TE1 mode is converted into the optical signal of the TE1 mode.
