Abstract

A memory system is provided for electronic equipment having a plurality of memory modules. The plurality of memory modules are coupled in series to allow operation at higher operating frequencies by avoiding signal reflections at branch points between the memory modules and the memory controller. The plurality of memory modules include both on-board type memory modules and slot type memory modules, to minimize increase in the installation area for the plurality of memory modules.
